The President of Ghana H.E Akufo Addo in his 16th COVID-19 address to the nation has said that all sporting events remain banned till further notice.
He said the use by outsiders of school premises for sporting activities is still not allowed.
“The inconvenience and the financial burden the continuous stay at home of children is opposing to parents and guardians”,He added.
“Fellow Ghanaians this is a necessary price we have to pay in our efforts to protect the lives of our children as well as to limit and contain the spread of the virus in our country” He added
“In the next couple of weeks, decision will also be taken on the resumption of contact sports including football taking into consideration the imminent participation of our national teams in international competitions as unknown lover of football I know how devastating is absence has been and it is my hope that very soon you will have the pleasure of playing and watching the beautiful game again until then non-contact sports are the only sporting event permitted to takes place, Beaches, pubs cinemas and nightclubs are still to remain closed until further notice”,The President of the Republic said.
