Veteran football administrator and Kumasi King Faisal owner, Alhaji Abdul Karim Grusah has commended Kurt Okraku for hard working in his first year in office as GFA president.
On Tuesday, 26th October 2020 was exactly one year Kurt Okraku elected as the president of the Ghana Football Association after the position became vacant since June 2018 after Ghanaian underground journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas exposed the former GFA president Kwasi Nyatakyi and other referees for involving in bribery and corruption.
In the absence of Kwasi Nyatakyi as a GFA president, the Normalization Committee (NC) led by Dr. Kofi Amoah took over to take care of Ghana football until October 2019.
In an interview with Isaac Ganyo Tamakloe known on Virgin Tv sports show ‘Virgin Total Sports’ Alhaji Grusah said, “To me Kurt Okraku and his committee have done well in their first year as GFA president because their plans was good before the Coronavirus and due to that football was truncated. Before we play the league last season, they forced to give the clubs 50,000 dollars and 25,000 dollars for First Division. This shows they have done well.
“They have done well for the new committee which has brought so many changes. We will see their performance in the ground and on table and observe that they have performed well after their appointment.
“From last year up to this year, they have given us balls near hundred balls because it is more than fifty. They have given us so many things.
“We are expecting so many things like sponsorship but they are working on it. Even we as clubs, it is difficult for us to get sponsorship so if they’ve not gotten some yet then we should relax and calm down for them.” He said.
